John G. Shooshan


The Shooshan Company | John G. ShooshanMr. Shooshan is responsible for participating in strategic firm policy decisions, as well as directing major new business ventures and cultivating new investor relationships. He founded The Shooshan Company in 1986.

Most recently, Mr. Shooshan, with The Shooshan Company, completed the Liberty Center project, a 1 million square foot, mixed-use project consisting of office, residential and retail space.  Today, Mr. Shooshan is leading The Shooshan Company in their newest development endeavor, Founders Square, a 5.35 acre, mixed-use project consisting of about 1.2 million SF of density among a significant open park space in the heart of Ballston.

In 2007, Mr. Shooshan helped form Kodiak Realty Services, LLC by combining the property management and engineering services of The Shooshan Company and Fred Schnider Investment Group to create a long-term property management firm.

Previously, Mr. Shooshan has served as Mid-Atlantic Regional Partner for Faison & Associates, Inc., Vice President of Development for Cadillac Fairview Urban Development, Inc., now known as Brandywine Properties, and Director of Marketing for Oliver Carr Company. In these capacities, Mr. Shooshan gained extensive experience in development, financing, property management, and acquisitions.

Active in community affairs, Mr. Shooshan lends his energy and expertise to a variety of local public and private organizations. He is an active member of both the Urban Land Institute and Lambda Alpha and is co-chair, with Arlington County Board Chair Barbara Favola, of the Arlington Leadership Consortium to End Homelessness. Mr. Shooshan is a former member of the Urban Land Institute's Washington District Council Executive Committee and Landon School trustee, and is past president of the Ballston Partnership.  He has also served on the boards of the Ballston-Virginia Square Partnership and the John Carroll Society.

Timothy W. Moore, CPA/PFS

Moore, CPA/PFSTim Moore received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Catawba College (Salisbury, NC) in December 1979, with a major in accounting and a minor in Computer Science. He became a Certified Public Accountant, licensed to practice in Maryland in July, 1984. In May 1996, Tim passed the AICPA Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) examination, the only professional accreditation for personal financial planners that requires CPA licensure as a prerequisite.

Prior to joining The Shooshan Company as Vice President-Finance in May of 2006, Tim spent 26 years in public accounting, most recently as a principal in the Rockville, Maryland firm of Weisman, Noble & Moore, PC. Tim's professional experience includes a wide range of accounting, tax, and consulting services to small businesses and individual clients with particular focus on federal tax matters in the partnership, estate and trust areas.  Serving as the tax principal of his last firm, Tim became particularly well versed in the analysis of tax law and its application to complex transactions in a variety of industries. His background included integral involvement in real estate entity structure planning and transactional analysis.  Clients included numerous real estate development and property management interests.

Tim's more recent accomplishments include his integral involvement in the 2007 establishment of Kodiak Realty Services, LLC (“Kodiak”), a commercial and residential property management firm that is a joint venture of The Shooshan Company and the Fred Schnider Investment Group, LLC.  Tim also serves as Chief Property Controller/CFO of Kodiak. Tim is currently a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). He is a member of the AICPA's Tax Section and the Personal Financial Planning Membership Section.

P. Brian Scull

The Shooshan Company | P. Brian ScullA principal with the firm, Mr. Scull is responsible for tracking and supervising all development-related activities including cost analysis, schedule maintenance, consultant selection and coordination, and quality of design and construction.

Mr. Scull is a licensed architect with a combined 20 years of Commercial Architecture and Development experience. He joined The Shooshan Company in 1998. He offers a strong background in the design, management and construction of large projects. Mr. Scull received dual degrees in Architecture and Business Management from the University of Maryland in 1988.

During his tenure at The Shooshan Company, Mr. Scull has directed the design and construction of more than 1 million square feet of Commercial Office and Mixed-use Development.

Mr. Scull has worked for several well-respected firms in his career including The Hillier Group, Studios Architecture, and Davis, Carter, Scott. Mr. Scull co-founded his own firm providing architectural services in the Washington DC and New York Metropolitan Areas.

Mr. Scull is a current member of the Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, and Leadership Arlington, Class of 2009. Past Memberships include the American Institute of Architects, and the District of Columbia Building Industry Association.

Kelly B. Shooshan

The Shooshan Company | Kelly B. ShooshanKelly Shooshan is the Vice President of Development for The Shooshan Company. She is primarily responsible for tracking and supervising all development activities including cost analysis, schedule maintenance, consultant selection and coordination, and management of design and construction.

Kelly offers a background in financial analysis, related to both new development and existing properties, and provides a unique ability to evaluate cost and design within owner requirements. Previous to joining The Shooshan Company, in 2003, she was an Investment Analyst for Medical Office Properties, Inc., focusing on underwriting portfolio acquisitions. Prior to this, she worked as a Financial Analyst for Spaulding and Slye Colliers (now Jones Lang LaSalle) with their Structured Finance Group.

Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Systems with a Minor in Business from Georgetown University. Kelly is the current president of the Ballston Virginia Square Partnership and is a current member of The Real Estate Group and a CCIM Designee.

Kevin Shooshan

The Shooshan Company | Kevin ShooshanKevin Shooshan joined the Shooshan Company in the winter of 2006, as Development Manager for the Liberty Center project in Arlington, Virginia. He currently assists with construction administration by monitoring the overall construction schedule, design consultants and general coordination. Prior to joining The Shooshan Company, Kevin was a research analyst at GVA Advantis in Washington, DC for two years focusing on the downtown commercial markets.

Kevin holds his Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing with a Minor in Theology from Georgetown University. He was also a member of the varsity lacrosse team, where he earned a varsity letter all four years. Kevin serves as both a class agent and as the Annual Fund 2000's Decade Chair for Landon School.

Matt Buhts

As Director of Finance for The Shooshan Company, Mr. Buhts is responsible for performing due diligence on development projects, arranging financing, managing investor relationships and monitoring the financial performance of projects.

Prior to joining The Shooshan Company, he managed over $1 billion of construction loans throughout the mid-Atlantic as an Assistant Vice President at iStar Financial.  His career began at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he specialized in assurance and business advisory services and achieved the CPA designation.

Mr. Buhts graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and the University of Southern California with a Masters of Accounting.

Amanda Novak

As Assistant Development Manager, Amanda is responsible for assisting the development team in all aspects relating to existing projects as well as new development.  The majority of Amanda's responsibilities include interacting with the county to track permit issues, building plans, and site plan requirements.  In addition, Amanda is also responsible for daily office tasks as well as coordinating meetings, and office events.

Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in Human and Organizational Development: Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness, with a minor in Corporate Strategy, from Vanderbilt University in May 2008.  While at Vanderbilt, Amanda achieved Dean's List and was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.  Amanda currently serves as an alumni interviewer for Vanderbilt.

Hang (Annie) C. Ng

The Shooshan Company | Hang (Annie) C. NgMs. Ng is the controller who handles all accounting functions for The Shooshan Company LLC and for the properties it develops, leases, and manages. She joined the company in June 2006. Her primary responsibilities include preparing monthly financial statement packages, and processing monthly payroll. Her other responsibilities include preparing annual personal property taxes, business license tax, coordinating annual tax returns/audits with outside accountants, and other accounting functions.

Ms. Ng holds her Bachelor of Accounting from George Mason University.
