Published July 12, 2016

Arlington, Virginia continues to receive favorable rankings, the most recent being the 2nd “Best City for Millennials in America.” Niche.com, the same website that named Arlington the #1 “2016 Best City to Live in America” less than a month ago, recently came out with their newest report. Niche.com is a rankings website which provides reviews and insights into neighborhoods.

According to the site, rankings are “…based on the number of millennial residents, job opportunities, and access to bars, restaurants, and affordable housing…”

Interestingly, 3 cities from the D.C. Metro area were included in the top 10: Arlington (#2), Alexandria (#3) and Washington, D.C. (#9). Cambridge, Massachusetts ranked #1. The total top 10 cities were:

  1. Cambridge, MA.
  2. Arlington, VA.
  3. Alexandria, VA.
  4. San Francisco, CA.
  5. Ann Arbor, MI.
  6. Minneapolis, MN.
  7. Seattle, WA.
  8. Denver, CO
  9. Washington, D.C.
  10. Austin, TX.

Much like the “Best City to Live in America” ranking, niche.com’s grades ranked a database of 223 cities. The site states “Factors Considered” when ranking these cities included:

  • Millennial Newcomers
  • Residents 25-34 Years Old
  • Access to Bars
  • Access to Coffee Shops
  • Access to Restaurants
  • Cost of Living Grade
  • Higher Education Rate
  • Crime and Safety Grade
  • Diversity Grade
  • Percent Change of Employees
  • Unemployment Rate

This is extremely exciting news as the report will continue to draw new residents, recent graduates and young professionals to this great city. The Shooshan Company is proud to operate in Arlington, Virginia and encourage economic growth.
