​Arlington has been recognized as having "one of the best park systems in the country" according to The Trust for Public Land, a nonprofit group whose website states their mission is “to create parks and protect land for people, ensuring healthy, livable communities for generations to come.” Washington, D.C. is also in the top five.

Curbed.com, a website detailing neighborhoods and cities, recently published an article on "Why building walkable cities is the key to economic success."

In the article, the author references a new report from Foot Traffic Ahead on the impact of walkable urbanism on U.S. real estate, and that "...On nearly every metric, walkable developments perform better for their citizens, especially economically... On nearly every level, the analysis shows the benefits of denser, human-scale development. High walkability often correlates to improved social mobility."

The Arlington Chamber of Commerce has announced the first ever Arlington Restaurant Week will take place October 21-28, 2019. As the Chamber states:

"Calling all diners, restauranteurs, foodies, and Arlingtonians with an adventurous palette – mark your calendars for Arlington Restaurant Week! The Arlington Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce our first ever restaurant week held from October 21 through 28 at your favorite Arlington restaurants. Support your community and join your fellow Arlingtonians in trying out some of the best food the area has to offer."

VIDA Fitness Holding Free Classes in Ballston Ahead of Opening At 4040 Wilson Blvd.

As reported by Arlnow, "... VIDA Fitness isn’t open yet, but they’re offering free classes for anyone looking to get a little more limber in Ballston... VIDA Fitness is offering a 'Glow Up! Power Yoga Class' from 6-7 p.m. at the Ballston Freshfarm Market (901 N. Taylor Street). The VIDA Ballston website describes the class as an outdoor yoga class aimed at improving flexibility and reducing stress... VIDA is planning to open its new Ballston location in the still-under-construction 4040 Wilson Blvd tower The opening date has not been announced, but staff said VIDA is eyeing an early 2020 opening."
